Out of the Blue for Lazenby's Financial Services

Lazenbys Financial Services, a financial advisory firm based in Roundhay, Leeds, recently expanded to a new office and wanted a statement piece for their reception area.

Dee and Alan Lazenby sought something distinctive to reflect their brand but were unsure how to merge their professional identity with an abstract style. Recommended to them for creating impactful and bespoke artwork, we were excited to take on the challenge.

The Challenge:

Lazenbys wanted a unique piece that would set the tone for their new office, resonating with both staff and clients. They liked the abstract style but wanted their brand's ‘L’ logo incorporated into the artwork. With no prior projects blending abstract art and logo design, this piece required a fresh approach to bring their vision to life.

Our Approach:

We began by reviewing Lazenbys’ brand guidelines to understand their primary colours—blue and teal—and how they used accents. Creating two test pieces, we demonstrated various treatments of their logo and the ways accent colours could subtly enhance the main palette. After some consideration, Dee and Alan opted for a blend of the test designs, with minimal use of accent colours to maintain a refined look.

The final piece was crafted at a size of 1m x 1m on a 40mm deep box canvas, with the ‘L’ logo as the focal point, painted first and then layered with background elements. This technique allowed the logo to stand out, adding depth and character to the finished artwork.

The Result:

The completed piece brought a sophisticated and professional vibe to Lazenbys’ reception area, merging abstract expression with brand identity. The subtle integration of their logo created an eye-catching feature that adds a personal touch to the space. The finished artwork, sealed and certified with authenticity, now welcomes everyone who enters their office, making a memorable first impression and reinforcing the Lazenbys brand.
