Can art really make teams stronger?

I recently joined Boostara Podcast with host James Johnson to talk about something I genuinely believe in — that creativity has a real role to play in how teams work together.
We covered my journey from technical illustrator to running MJH ArtStudio, but more importantly, why art and creativity matter in a work setting. Not as a “nice-to-have”, but as a practical way to improve communication, trust, and wellbeing.
In the conversation, we explored how getting people creating together changes the dynamic in a room. Titles drop, conversations open up, and people start to see each other differently. You don’t need to be good at art. In fact, that’s the point. When everyone’s slightly out of their comfort zone, barriers tend to disappear.
We also talked about:
- How creativity supports better communication and collaboration
- Why wellbeing and authenticity are becoming business priorities, not add-ons
- The role of AI in creativity and why the human side still matters more than ever
This episode is for anyone who feels work shouldn’t just be about targets, deadlines, and spreadsheets. With the right environment, it can also be a place for connection, fresh thinking, and genuine growth.
If you’re curious about how creativity can strengthen teams and bring people together, this one’s well worth a watch.
